CYAI awards Individual Certifications after a thorough review process that may include a qualifying examination. Three certification levels are offered: Instructor, Teacher, and Therapist. Each certification requires the completion of a preliminary qualification known as the Certification for Patanjali Fundamentals.
Yoga is taught worldwide with varying methods, levels of rigor, and focus, often emphasizing Hatha Yoga practices. However, yoga teachers and practitioners can greatly enhance their teaching and personal practice with proper understanding of Patanjali’s Yoga Philosophy. The CYAI Certification for Patanjali Fundamentals validates foundational knowledge in yoga as outlined by Sage Patanjali. This certification aligns with CYAI’s mission to standardize yoga education.

Candidates are awarded the certification after successfully demonstrating their knowledge through an exam.
Upon obtaining the Patanjali Fundamentals Certification, candidates can advance to higher levels.
1. Instructor Certification (AYI) :Instructor Certificate is offered after monitoring instructor sessions to assess safety and competency in leading classes.
2. Teacher Certification (AYT) :Teacher Certificate is offered after evaluating the person's ability to assess need of individual subject and prescribe customized yoga routines effectively.
3. Therapist Certification (AYTh) :Therapist Certificate is granted to individuals who demonstrate the ability to treat specific disease conditions with a higher level of medical understanding comparable to healthcare practitioners.
